Invented in Germany, the powerbocking or Bocking (From the name of its inventor, Mr. Alexander Böck) is the practice of walking, running, jumping and acrobatics equipped with pogo sticks. These stilts are provided with fiberglass leaf springs, located on the back.

New urban sport

This new urban sport has made its first appearance during the 2000s. With Jumping Stilts you can experience the sensation of weightlessness. You can run up to 40 Km/hr, jump over 7 feet high and nearly 10 feet long.

This sport activates 98% of muscles and allows strengthening of torso, back and legs. One study found that it helps to burn up to 600 kcal in 10 minutes. Study showed that the Jumping Stilts is five times more effective than jogging. It stimulates the secretion of endorphins (endorphins are neurotransmitters whose role is to control stress). How it works

The principle of Jumping Stilts is based on the specific compression of the spring and the movement made during the action. Appealing to the sense of balance, jumping stilts work after the pressure on the leaf spring located at the rear of the instrument. Following this pressure, it propels you upward.

Note that jumping stilts are equipped with high precision, so if you're too light, the spring will not react and if you are too heavy, you will damage the spring.

Instructions to use Jumping Stilts:

At the beginning, it is not recommended to practice alone and perform complex movements like jumping and running.

  • Dress comfortably with loose clothing and appropriate footwear.
  • Wear all protective accessories such as helmet, elbow pads, and kneepads and wrist guards.
  • Put the pair of Jumping Stilts by placing your leg in a festoon knee and place your foot by pressing your heel to the bottom. Then tighten the straps, making sure that your feet are comfortably placed on the plates and adjust the festoons of knees by placing them just below the kneecaps. After that, tie the straps behind the knees and finally, attach the safety straps complementary.
  • Sit on a chair or stool as high as possible, so you can get up with much more ease.
  • Make sure your feet are well maintained with attachment buckles outward. By making your first steps, it may feels that you have a lot of hesitation.
  • Begin by walking slowly and practice your skills gradually.
  • Do not stop, but keep walking slowly to maintain equilibrium.
  • Again, as you are unfamiliar with the practice of Jumping Stilts, do not try to do it alone, because if you fall, you'll have trouble getting up (like all beginners).

  • Always, wear protective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow and wrist).
  • Practice jumping stilts on flat and hard.
  • Do not go to places with many obstacles.
  • Beginners should always be accompanied.
  • Follow carefully all the recommendations in the manual.
  • Avoid practicing jumping stilts on wet areas, slippery or unstable in relief, on sand or earth, on the stairs or sloped surfaces, or on a carpet.
  • For your own safety, do not try to modify your hardware. Jumping Stilts are made to be lightweight and maneuverable. Always use only original spare parts.

A small shopping guide:

Among the most popular brands, the Jumping Stilts comes in several models for adults and juniors. It’s always advisable to choose the model that corresponds to its weight, ensuring that there is a difference of at least 5kg more of your weight.

For example, if you have 54 kg, it is advisable to take the 60 kg model, because the difference between your weight and such rounding is more than 5 kg. So if you have 58 kg or more, its better you take the 70 kg model, because the 60 kg model gives a difference of less than 5 kg over weight.
